Speed adds wind chill, so it feels colder than the air, which between 20:00 and 02:00 averages between about −3 and −11 °C from November to March. Most snowmobile listings say winter clothing is included, and most say hotel pickup is included or offered. Snowmobiles need snow: in snow observations from 2015–2024 at Rovaniemi Apukka, 15 km from the city, the ground had at least some snow on almost every day from December to April, on about three days in four in November and on no day in September.

Tour details are taken first from the operator’s own website (or Visit Finland DataHub); booking platforms fill in what the operator’s page does not state.
The tables and tour lists include the northern lights tours in our data that have a working booking link: 379 tours (145 with details from the operator’s own website; sources: GetYourGuide 156, visitrovaniemi.fi 96, operator site 145, Viator 15), collected 2026-09-21. Northern lights tours: listed as a northern lights tour on GetYourGuide, Viator or visitrovaniemi.fi, or naming the northern lights (aurora) in the title on the operator’s own website. 26 platform listings that were not northern lights tours were left out. 117 tours were left out because they have no working booking link yet.
